Caves & lake country — July 2013
A July-4th weekend in the Missouri Ozarks — down into Bridal Cave near Camdenton, with its amber-lit columns, soda straws, and mirror-still pools, then out to the long blue water of the Lake of the Ozarks. Tap any photo to enlarge it, or open the map.
A Fourth of July weekend in the Missouri Ozarks, and another trip that started underground. Bridal Cave near Camdenton is a beauty — amber-lit columns, delicate soda straws hanging from the ceiling, and pools so still they mirror the rock above.
Back in the sunshine, the long blue water of the Lake of the Ozarks was waiting. Cool caves and warm lake: a good formula for a Missouri summer.
This trip ran 2 days, July 4–5, 2013. Along the way we spent time at Bridal Cave and Lake of the Ozarks. The gallery below tells it day by day, in 23 photographs.
